HTD Bloomfield was founded in 1935 as Hartford Tool & Die by Carl & Hans Schweizer. In the 1960’s HTD migrated to high volume precision production machining primarily for Pratt & Whitney, phasing out tool and die production. Through the 1980’s and 1990’s, HTD grew to be Pratt & Whitney’s largest “Small Parts” supplier. HTD was privately held until joining the Triumph Group in January 1999.

Triumph Group, Inc. employs approximately 4,000 people in 44 operating locations, 20 states and two countries. The Company is comprised of small to medium sized companies which are committed to doing what they do best - producing and marketing a product or service which is key to the markets they serve. Triumph Group has operated and will continue to operate in a decentralized manner to better realize their commitment to excellence of quality and service.

HTD Reversing Actuators:

HTD's Ball Reverser and Diamond Reverser Actuators convert rotation of a shaft into reciprocating linear motion. HTD's design flexibility has found wide acceptance in many applications and can easily be retrofit for any end use. The Ball Reverser has five standard sizes each offering two screws materials: alloy steel and stainless steel. The Diamond Reverser actuator consists of five components: a reversing screw, a cage, a sleeve, a follower and a retaining ring that can be custom manufactured out of almost any material.

HTD Miniature and Rollnut Actuators:

HTD Rollnuts, Miniature Rollnut Oscillators employ rollers, rather than balls, to provide a smooth, quiet conversion of rotary motion to linear motion with minimal backlash. Virtually maintenance free, HTD Rollnuts are available with built-in guides for more precise control and can offer long leads for low RPM operation yielding maximum linear conversion. Oscillating Rollnuts are characterized by one complete back and forth cycle for each revolution. Designed for maximum performance, the Rollnut Oscillator provides low friction, high efficiency and long service life.

HTD Miniature Rollnut Value Added Assemblies:

HTD's Miniature Rollnut value added assemblies are custom designed for use in specialty mechanisms - such as laboratory and medical diagnostic instruments - or any application where precise, repeatable motion control is required. A custom designed component of your original equipment, these unique products allow greater flexibility, increased mechanical efficiencies and reduced energy requirements. HTD Drive System Solutions feature a roller that rotates in sealed, life-time-lubricated ball bearings, and can include motors, sensors, switches and other electrical engineered for your specific application.

HTD Timing Belts and Timing Belt Drives:

HHTD's standard line of synchronous belts are made of neoprene fiberglass, a time proven construction for efficient, trouble-free power transmission. Specialty belts designed with custom compounds such as steel or polyester are also available to meet tension requirements. A wide variety of belt length and widths, in various pitches, complement HTD's complete portfolio of drive components which include standard and custom sprockets and pulleys, drive coupling devices and drive accessories. All HTD drive mechanisms are designed for minimum maintenance and extended durability.
